Graduate Assistant Opening

The Graduate Assistant must be positive and open to meeting and working with people culturally different from themselves. They will be a part of the an office of student and professional staff members

DESCRPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Assist the Director with obtaining grants to enhance and expand MRC mission
  • Research foundation and corporate grant makers to identify prospects
  • Assist in developing proposal strategies.
  • Write grant proposals to solicit, retain, and maximize financial support.
  • Recommend funding opportunities to pursue from pool of prospective grant makers.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with faculty and staff to explore and develop co-curricular projects.
  • Plan and coordinate proposal development, including research, data collection, writing, budget, and supporting materials.
  • Participate in program development for specific grant projects.
  • Write letters of intent, concept papers, follow up letters, and other grant-related documents as needed.
  • Coordinates reports to funding agency.
  • Work with staff to collect program outcome data and evaluate performance. Produces status reports on grant activity.
  • Write and submits reports in a timely manner.

Position Description: The MRC Web Master will assist the Director with the maintenance of the Multicultural Resource Center web page.

Requirements: Web-design experience; proficient knowledge with Microsoft Dream Weaver software; excellent written English skills; flexibility and ability to work independently. Must be eligible for undergraduate Federal Work Study. Applicants must provide examples of previous web page experience. Newsletter & Marketing Coordinator [OPEN]
Position Description: Assist with design and development of Multicultural Resource Center Newsletter. Assist with flyers, posters, newspaper advertisements/press releases and other marketing strategies on an as needed basis in order to market and advertise the Multicultural Resource Center's events, programs and services to University students, faculty and staff, and surrounding community.

Requirements: Experience with Microsoft Word and Publisher required; knowledge of Microsoft Dream Weaver and Adobe PageMaker desirable.
